Job Description

  • Extend the capabilities of game engines by programming logic for the GPU.
  • Additionally, analyze the complexity of such solutions and be able to optimize them for better performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement shaders for existing game engines (eg. Unity)
  • Design and develop supporting libraries to work with the graphics techniques
  • Analyze visual output to define bugs and deficiencies

Desired Hard Skills

  • Proficient with Mathematics for 3D Development (linear algebra, eg.)
  • Working Knowledge of OpenGL or DirectX APIs
  • Deep understanding of the Graphics Pipeline
  • Previous experience with developing shaders is a definite plus

Desired Soft Skills

  • Willingness to do individual research and read research papers
  • Good communication skills is a must to write concise documentation
  • Presentation skills to showcase designs and implementation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related areas with four years of relevant experience (or two years with a Master’s degree in a relevant area).
  • The ideal candidate will be proficient in Mathematics and should be comfortable transforming equations into programming logic.
  • Also, knowledge of data structures in general (and those used for 3D graphics in particular) is required.
  • Understanding of object oriented principles is not required, but will be a definite plus.

Job duties include:

  • Work on experimental features and implement research based algorithms to achieve automation between game engines and design formats such as CAD models, Floor Plans, Image based designs, etc.
  • Report to R&D Head in developing, rapid prototyping applications and novel new features.
  • Develop, modify, and debug game and related engine C/C++/C# code
  • Develop, modify, and debug game code in a scripting language
  • Deploys and tests software on PC, mobile and console platforms
  • Document software and features for internal and external engineering teams
  • Collaborate with other internal departments (art, design, audio, animation, QA, etc)

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • experience in OpenGL or any other 3D graphics library required.
  • - good knowledge of 3D Geometry and maths.
  • - experience in writing shaders for implementing different rendering techniques.
  • Experience developing complex software systems
  • Experience converting algorithms and research material into working models
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Solid math background
  • Creative, motivated, focused, passionate, results-oriented
  • Good communicator that enjoys collaboration with other programmers
  • Passion for games

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Aptitude for game and system design
  • Experience with game development
  • Experience with image recognition
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, readable, portable, and reliable code
  • Strong C/C++ experience
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, C#, Perl, ActionScript, JavaScript or Lua
  • Experience with inner workings of game engines such as Unreal Engine 4 and Unity.
  • Experience with native development on mobile platforms (IOS & Android)
  • Experience with rapid application prototyping.
